Read: 2 Kings 23:3 (The Amplified Bible)
“The king stood [on the platform] by the pillar and made a covenant before the Lord–to walk after the Lord and to keep His commandments, His testimonies, and His statutes with all his heart and soul, to confirm the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people stood to join in the covenant.”
Think: When the ancient Israelites turned back to God, they generally did it together as a community.
Pray: Pray for community and accountability. The Christian life is meant to be lived together.
Live: Let’s commit to move forward in faith together. We are one family over two-billion strong and counting!

Read: 2 Kings 23:3 (New International Version)
“The king stood by the pillar and renewed the covenant in the presence of the Lord —to follow the Lord and keep his commands, statutes and decrees with all his heart and all his soul, thus confirming the words of the covenant written in this book. Then all the people pledged themselves to the covenant.”
Think: We have thousands of years worth of stories, wisdom and warnings in the Bible. We can’t live in ignorance when it comes to following God.
Pray: Pray over your Bible, and ask God to help you live out the words found inside.
Live: When King Josiah found the Word of God, he was astounded and immediately repented for not following it. We need to express the same reverence to the Word of God today.

Read: 2 Kings 23:3 (The Message)
“The king stood by the pillar and before God solemnly committed them all to the covenant: to follow God believingly and obediently; to follow his instructions, heart and soul, on what to believe and do; to put into practice the entire covenant, all that was written in the book. The people stood in affirmation; their commitment was unanimous.”
Think: After generations of the people going their own way, King Josiah stands up and commits to following God with his whole heart and soul.
Pray: We are never too far gone to turn back to God. Commit your life to Him today.
Live: The past is the past. We can shape the future by committing to live for Jesus right here, right now.

Read: 2 Kings 23:3 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
“Next, the king stood by the pillar and made a covenant in the presence of the Lord to follow the Lord and to keep His commands, His decrees, and His statutes with all his mind and with all his heart, and to carry out the words of this covenant that were written in this book; all the people agreed to the covenant.”
Think: Despite what our culture says, there is right and wrong, good and evil.
Pray: Pray before you make any decision. Ask God if what you are about to do is honoring to Him.
Live: Follow God’s commandments by loving Him with everything you have and by loving your neighbor as yourself.

Read: 2 Kings 23:3 (The Voice Bible)
“While standing next to the sacred pillar, the king proclaimed a covenant before the Eternal One. He promised to follow the Eternal, to obey His commands and laws and testaments with all his being. He promised to honor every word of the covenant book that had been discovered in the temple. Everyone who was present entered into the covenant with the king.”
Think: From the beginning of time, we have been invited to walk with God in truth and in righteousness.
Pray: The world tries to present many paths to the divine, but we know Jesus is the only way. Center your prayers today on the person of Jesus.
Live: Walk with God each and every day. Stay grounded in the Word and seek to honor God in all you do.

Read: 2 Kings 23:3 (New Living Translation)
“The king took his place of authority beside the pillar and renewed the covenant in the lord ’s presence. He pledged to obey the lord by keeping all his commands, laws, and decrees with all his heart and soul. In this way, he confirmed all the terms of the covenant that were written in the scroll, and all the people pledged themselves to the covenant.”
Think: Throughout the Bible, believers are called on to publicly proclaim their faith. Do the people in your life know where you stand?
Pray: Make sure your faith is truly yours, that you are committed to the cause of Christ on your own accord.
Live: Just as King Josiah publicly committed himself to the Lord, don’t be afraid to take a stand. People will notice and respond.
